Staff Attorney, District Court Trial Bureau:

Nassau Legal Aid is seeking entry level attorneys or recent law graduates who have a demonstrated interest in criminal defense and/or public interest law.

Salary: $48,000 (unadmitted)/$51,000 (admitted) + benefits

Staff Attorney, Family Court Bureau: for entry level attorneys already admitted or soon to be admitted to practice who have a demonstrated interest in family law and/or public interest law.

Full-time Spanish-Speaking Paralegal:

Nassau Legal Aid is seeking a full-time, Spanish-speaking paralegal to assist staff attorneys in arraignment court as well as other functions. Candidates with law school, college, or paralegal training or legal office experience are preferred but not rquired. Proficiency in word processing and computer skills are a must. Compensation is commensurate with relevant experience.

Full-time Paralegal

Nassau Legal Aid is seeking a full-time paralegal to handle a wide range of office functions including assisting staff attorneys in court. Candidates with law school, college, or paralegal training or legal office expeirence are preferred but not required. Proficiency in word processing and computer skills are a must.

Fluency in a language other than English (especially Spanish) is strongly preferred. Compensation is commensurate with relevant experience.

Part-time paralegal positions are also now available. Candidates with law school, college, or paralegal training or legal office expeirence are preferred but not required. Proficiency in word processing and computer skills are a must.

Special Internship applications are being accepted for law students who speak fluent Mandarin and are available on Wednesdays. Nassau Legal Aid is now staffing Human Trafficking Court and are seeking interns to assist with translation and other legal work. The position is available as a volunteer opportunity toward pro bono hours and under limited circumstances as a paid position.
